Crafted from our smooth, full-bodied base bourbon and aged for a minimum of three years in American oak char #3 barrels, Von Payne Black delivers rich layers of caramel, vanilla, and toasted oak.
Von Payne Black is not flavored. It is infused with all-natural black currant.
Natural black currant berries are carefully mashed and steeped in the bourbon for two to four weeks, allowing the spirit to absorb their bold, naturally tart character. The result is a strikingly unique flavor profile and a deep ruby-red color that sets Von Payne Black apart.

Bought these for prizes for my Halloween Party.
Great little shot glass. Unique and well made.
It has a unique flavor. Doesn’t taste quite like a bourbon, has a bit of a fruity taste, can’t quite describe it. I won’t say I dislike it, it’s going to take a couple more tastings to lock in the flavor.

Yeah well I made six purchases on my own, my wife made a purchase for me 2 bottles and shot glass. For my birthday, I love this brand of whiskey this is my # 1 go to.
The shot glasses are great. There not glass, they are aluminum which is better!!

Went out on a limb for this bottle because of the black currant addition to the bourbon, and obviously the cool aesthetics of the bottle and spout. I am glad I did! Zero regrets. Very, very smooth, good flavor both straight, or using for an old fashioned. My son in law, and I drank 3/4 of the bottle the day I opened it. It pairs very well with a nice cigar. I will be ordering the Trio soon. If you’re considering a bottle, just buy it.
Maybe find a better way to package for shipment. Undoubtably it was damaged in shipment but lid came off and contents had started spilling and leaking into the packing material. However the product was very good itself.
