Crafted from our smooth, full bodied base bourbon and aged a minimum of three years in American oak char number three barrels, Von Payne Black delivers rich layers of caramel, vanilla, and toasted oak.
Von Payne Black is not flavored. It is INFUSED with all-natural black currant.
Natural black currant berries are carefully mashed and steeped in the bourbon for two to four weeks, allowing the spirit to absorb their bold, naturally tart character. The result is a strikingly unique flavor profile and a deep ruby red color that sets Von Payne Black apart. Finished in our signature decanter style bottle with a one-of-a-kind gargoyle pour spout, every pour becomes part of the experience. A spirit that is as visually iconic as it is award winning; Von Payne Black does not just sit on the shelf. It commands attention the moment it is poured.

Very nice taste, and for 90 proof, that gargoyle has some bite! It definitely has earned its place on my bourbon room wall.

I actually purchased the Von Payne Select Two-Bottle Bundle with Neat Glass Set. Love the taste of the Von Payne Select, wonderful new addition to the Family Von Payne. You will have to start selling a Combo Bundle of Black & Select. Maybe a new Gold Gargoyle? Keep me in mind if you do..... I'll be waiting.
Shared with a few friends last night and all were thoroughly impressed. The Select was very smooth out of the gate with notes of caramel and Vanilla. Highly recommended!
Very smooth and good. It is nice end to a day.
Always amazing to order from.
Love the taste of VP Black AND Select. Love the gargoyles as well. Pour spouts are very unique. I have all 3 of the Black gargoyles, the Red Eyes Halloween gargoyle and just purchased 2 bottles of Select with the gold gargoyles and both glasses. OUTSTANDING! Oh....also shipped quickly and very well packed. Thank you.
A great way to enhance the experience
We love the flavor and enjoy the experience of the poor
Absolutely smooth and full of flavor. One of the best I ever had. Love it cold strait out of the freezer!
2nd order with Von Payne, both have been excellent. Well wrapped and no worries on damage. So far great company to work with.
Very good bourbon, nice sweet nose, great caramel and vanilla pallette, no harsh aftertaste.
They are nice glasses
I was supposed to get the casket flask per advertisement. I submitted an email with screenshots and they responded 10 days later saying they turned it over to a live person and I haven't heard back. They just keep saying they haven't heard anything. Patty
I'm very excited to restock on Select after multiple years of waiting
Not enough of a bite, too mellow for my taste
The whole family loves both the VP Black and Select! Thanks for the excellent whiskey! Love keepin it local as well. We're in Tampa
Love the smooth taste and the black currant taste everyone should give it a try
Its a nice, smooth whiskey that always good to sip on. If you haven't tried it, I'd recommend that you do so.
God… I love this whiskey
Order was correct and was delivered fast
I am a collector of the Gargoyles. I am not going to open this 1st bottle it will be displayed with Red Eyes , Legacy, Mr.P and Mr. V. I will open the next bottle i order
The glasses are very cute and ice fits inside.
Great!
Love this whiskey really love the black pretty smooth definitely will be ordering again
This is our 5th order. Love this whisky and try to share with my guest and they ask where to order this brand. It's smooth and I love the cherry flavor.
I honestly haven't opened it yet. I am super excited to try the bourbon that started it all, but am saving it for Halloween.
I’m not a whiskey drinker but this is too good Love ❤️ it😉
Absolutely Love Von Payne!! I have not opened my Select yet, I plan on ordering a second bottle soon to sip on.!!! Looking Forward to New Gargoyles soon hopefully to add to the collection!
The online pictures didnt do this bottle justice. Von Payne is my favorite whiskey brand and this just blew it out of the water. The spirit is smooth and very flavorful. You almost forget about the black currant taste until you've finished the drink.
Delivery was simple as always. I do like the taste of the Select, it a totally different animal from the Black or the Reserve. Will surely buy again. Cant wait for the #3 Reserve though! Cheers! Mark G. Gilbertsville, PA.
Second bottle and is a special taste
Von Payne Black is the only bourbon I can drink straight. I love it. The Select I have to make into an Old Fashion which then is nice.
Love the taste but the original is still my favorite.
excellent neat.
The flavor is amazing, i enjoy smelling it nseveral times as I sip it!
Received and tried the new bourbon. Loved it.
Bought both the black bourbon gold those are high-quality have bought like six bottles within the last month and within the last month I’m officially out so I’m gonna have to re-order if that says anything I can get bourbon cheaper, but I like the quality and the poor spout is just rocks only complaint. I do wish to pour a measured shot or closed on its own or an easier way evaporating out or knock it over your pour it out all over the place. You may not know just gone but quality is a bourbon. excellent I’ll probably keyboard it. I would like to see a rum a black rum or maybe like a chili pepper infused something hot something‘s got some bite on pallet I’ve been asking everybody for that. I can’t find a good tasting pepper, bourbon or rum, but I do like the black current infuse bourbon.
Almost too sweet but, otherwise great! Very smooth for 90 proof. Beautiful color and the bottle and gargoyle are next level!
I was worried that it would be broken upon delivery. It was packed with the utmost care. Thank you !
I ordered the trio to get 3 different toppers the first time and they were all the same. You sent two additional bottles and yet the gremlin topper was not received. Very disappointed.
This drink ROCKS, I've have it over ice and it was good, I've mixed it with ginger ale and it was great. Love it, can't wait to roll the dice on my 3rd bottle and see if I get the other gargoyle pour.
